The 2nd Annual Revolutionary War Day

The hallowed grounds of Historic Belmont Hall will be crawling with Colonists during the 2nd Annual Revolutionary War Day Saturday, October 12, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. From the first whiff of fresh split logs burning until the sight of smoke rising above the tree-lined drive, visitors to Belmont learn while mingling c. 1773.

New to Rev War Day This Year
Lively, period arts performances:

  • Dover English Country Dancers
  • Brotherhood of Breath Band, featuring pipes and string

Artisanal craft vendors:

  • Gina Gerhard, Flax-to-Linen
  • Rick Schuman, Wood Carver, For Woodness Sake

Colonial Kids Games led by Smyrna High School Student volunteers
S&T Southern Smokehouse BBQ and Delights, Sweet Josephine’s

Encampments of Revolutionary War reenactment units:

1st DE Regiment – 1st VA Regiment  1st New Jersey Volunteers

Weapons Demonstrations: No live ammunition will be used and a Safety Officer will be on duty

Hosted by the Friends of Belmont Hall and 1st Delaware Regiment Supported in part by Delaware Humanities, National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Delaware 250 Heritage Commission. Additional donations are gratefully accepted. Free parking will be guided as the public is invited to follow its way to 217 Smyrna Leipsic Road, Smyrna, DE.
